Clean water is critical for human health, wildlife habitats, recreation, and more. Watersheds, areas of land where water drains and\u00a0converges\u00a0at a point and joins another body of water have a high pollution risk.<\/p>\n<p>The adoption of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/laws-regulations\/summary-clean-water-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Clean Water Act<\/strong><\/a>, which regulates pollutants that are discharged into bodies of water, helped make significant progress in watershed protection.
