This document is a guide to local governments and developers on how to protect and enhance nature when planning and designing new development and redevelopment projects. Principles and checklists focus on the natural-resource aspects of sustainable development. They also recognize that having healthy nature in communities also creates positive economic and social benefits.<\/p>\n
