This is a Mackinaw Watershed plan developed for everyone who lives in the watershed, as well as local governments and state and federal agencies who will help them achieve the goal of protecting the river and the land surrounding it. The persistent sediment is affecting the wildlife and biological diversity of the animals and plants living in the river. The draining of the river has had an effect on flooding and sedimentation. Runoff from towns and roads and soil from land have effected the quality of the river water. This project suggests goals that will help protect the river, and the plan requires voluntary action.<\/p>\n
